The final catfish plant went in Friday. The lake will remain open for weekday fishing until after Labor Day when we will close on weekdays but remain open on weekends through fall re-opening full time in mid-December. The Catfish bite is best at the West Buoy Line. Catfish prefer chicken liver or cut mackerel.

Largemouth Bass can be found lurking around structure and respond well to crawdads, frogs, and other dark colored plastics. Brady Garrett of Long Beach caught & released a 7.40# bass Thursday on a swimbait at the South Shore Rock Pile.

Our final catfish plant will take place next Friday on July 31st. Catfish are being caught throughout the lake, but the bite is best at the West Buoy Line. Alfredo Lopez of Escondido caught a 12.80# cat at the west buoys using cut mackerel. Catfish were planted yesterday and are being caught throughout the lake. Our final catfish plant will take place in two weeks on July 31st.
