After three lackluster trips on Shasta Lake this past week, I'm happy to report that we had a good day on the water today.  Quite a few boats out today, but we got into a good bite early this morning.  We hooked four browns and lost one early in the day and picked up our biggest brown of the day in the afternoon.  Not much has changed in the way of conditions, but there are definitely more browns lurking in the shadows in the lower lake now.  10'-20' has been a good depth to focus on.  We're fishing open water, but it would be worth looking at some of the tributaries for lingering browns and rainbows right now.  We're headed for a great season in my mind and conditions are great right now.  We could use a little color in the water, but I'll take a slow rising lake over a fast rise with lots of debris in the lake any day.  Stay tuned for more reports and updates on fishing conditions on Shasta as they emerge.  Thank you!
