Hot weather kept the bass deep in the tules last week, and fishing was fair. Anglers used a combination of topwater, Senkos, and flipping techniques to fool the finicky bass. Fishing was best during the cooler parts of the day. Crappie anglers have been doing well at BV, and they are using minijigs, drop shot live worms, and locally produced baits to score limits. Talk with the guys at Copes, and they can set you up for a good day of crappie fishing at Buena Vista Lakes. Catfish have been eating chicken liver, nightcrawlers, and cut baits.
