This weather has the insects really coming off now. Recent hatches of note have included Blue Wing Olives, PMDs, Green Drakes, and different Caddis species. Some dark, medium sized Stoneflies have also been emerging, probably Skwalas. For flies, Adams or Parachute Adams in #18 & 20, Rusty Spinners, and a crippled PMD pattern should be in your box. On the Powerhouse 2 Riffle, #16 - 18 Dark Missing Links, and the Lower Sac LaFontaine will work well. Lower in the spring creek section look to fish Baetis / BWO patterns and midges. We are not too far away from seeing the Salmonflies emerging, fish Rubberlegs right now where you can, and get ready to splat the big flies soon. The access into the lower section north of 299 is still closed, you can hike in from the county park right on 299.
Hot Flies: TB Drowned Rusty Spinner, Rubberlegs, Sweet Pea Jigged Baetis, Pheasant Tails, Mercer's Missing Link, and Green Drakes
