The Sacramento River King salmon season opener is July 16th and predictions are, its going to be a good one! Early reports indicate there are lots of fresh Kings entering the system and with what we've seen from the ocean charter boat fleets, we're in for a great season ahead! I've seen reports of 30#, 40#, and 50# class Kings caught in the ocean already! Many of the charter boat captains are reporting the best salmon fishing in decades and that means we'll see the same great fishing in the Sacramento River system. The river fishing generally takes off in mid August but there are already fresh fish in the system and those numbers will continue to build through the month of September and early October. We've been booking our salmon season trips since the season ended last year so we've already filled well over 100 spots on the calendar. Jaynie will be booking 4 guide schedules again this year for our fall and late fall salmon runs and she's got plenty of available dates still. I wouldn't wait too long to call though, once we start catching salmon and posting reports the dates go pretty fast. If you can't make a fall salmon trip work, don't forget that we have a late fall season that begins in November and ends December 31st. All the salmon fishing on the Sac should be as good as we've seen in many years and we can't wait to share it with you all! Thank you!
