Fall Chinook fishing opened on August 1st on the Salmon River. Typically fishing is slow in early August but by the end of the month there are fish around to be caught and it continues to improve into September.

Trout fishing in streams opened on May 22. Cutthroat trout are available throughout the Salmon River basin and provide great opportunity for some spring fishing.
