Ice anglers report fair to good catch rates for rainbow trout using ice jigs, tubes or paddle bugs tipped with nightcrawler. Anglers are reporting 10 to 12 inches of ice, with little snow or slush on top of the ice. The edges have firmed up considerably with the recent period of low temperatures, but can become soft in areas by early afternoon. We advise anglers to use extreme caution, get off the ice early, avoid attempting to get onto the ice when the edges are soft and make ice safety a priority. An ice safety guide is available here
