Water Conditions
On the Truckee River, the best flows are below the Boca confluence towards stateline. In the upper Truckee River, the water levels are low, so make sure to check the water temperature before fishing. Fish are currently spread throughout the pools and the riffles on the Truckee River. Flows are 105 CFS in the town of Truckee, 139 CFS in Glenshire and 611 CFS at the stateline.
Tips for the Week
Peak summer conditions are winding down, but anglers are still better off fishing in the early morning or late in the evenings due to the increasing water temperatures mid-day. Some larger fish are being caught right now in the faster water using small nymphs under an indicator, but because of the good conditions right now, anglers can try multiple tactics throughout the day to see whats working. Dry fly action on the Truckee River is still doing well in the evenings too.
