Stocking: Wright’s Rainbows stocked 2,500 pounds of rainbow trout the week of November 13th for the opener and DFW planted 700 pounds the week prior. We had a total of 3,200 pounds stocked for the opener! The next stocking is the week of November 27th where another 1,500 pounds of trout will be planted. We are on the schedule that week to receive another stocking from DFW too. Follow our Instagram feed for the most updated info regarding trout stocking.

What’s the Catch? The trout opener was epic this weekend! Many anglers limited out within the first couple of hours Friday and Saturday. From the time of stocking, it only takes a few hours for the trout to travel to the far eastern coves on the lake. Limits were reeled in from Hermit Cove to Cloister Cove and Shadow Cove by boat as well as all points in between. With the water level low, there is lots of shoreline to fish. According to anglers, you couldn’t go wrong with bait. The trout were biting on everything from inflated nightcrawlers, powerbait in all varieties, mini jigs, and Hookup baits in black/brown/gold varieties.

Conditions: The water temperature is just below 70 degrees. Dissolved oxygen is consistent throughout. The sun is rising at 6:24 a.m. and setting at 4:44 p.m.
