Stocking: Another 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout went into the lake this week. Expect another 1,500 pounds from Idaho to go into the lake the week of March 4th. Follow our Instagram feed for the most updated info regarding trout stocking.

What’s the Catch? Trout were found in deeper waters last weekend. The most effective method to locating them was by boat. Sizeable trout were caught using spoons or green/yellow Powerbait. The t-dock and Siesta Point proved to be lucrative spots for bass fishing, with shiners being the bait of choice. Sunfish species are plentiful and make for enjoyable fishing during the day. Half Moon Cove is a hot spot for activity, especially near the tules. Using meal worms or a piece of nightcrawler can increase your chances of a bite. The catfish bite has been inconsistent, but it is anticipated to improve with the expanded lake hours during the spring. Catfish are particularly active at sunset.

Conditions: The water temperature is 59 degrees. The water column is well mixed and cold. The days are getting longer with the sun rising at 6:32 a.m. and setting at 5:33 p.m. New moon is March 10th.
