Stocking: Another 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout went into the lake this week. So far we’ve stocked 14,500 pounds this season. An additional 1,700 pounds of trout were stocked by DFW. Trout season will run through the end of April. Follow our Instagram feed for the most updated info regarding trout stocking

What’s the Catch? The rainy weather brings the bass out and last weekend was no exception! The barometric pressure drops and the bass come out to feed. This coupled with low visibility makes the chances of a bite more likely if you’re willing to endure a few raindrops. The bass were biting all over the lake. Most bites were by shore, but dockhands saw a 13+ pounder pulled by boat and released shortly after. We heard they were biting on spinners, jerk baits, and cranks. Boats were limiting early on trout. Rangers are recommending nightcrawlers and aniseed PowerBait this time of year for trout. No reports of panfish or catfish this weekend.

Conditions: The water temperature is 59 degrees. The water column is well mixed and cold. The days are getting longer with the sun rising at 6:09 a.m. and setting at 5:50 p.m. New moon is March 10th.
