Stocking: Another 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout went into the lake last week. The next stocking of 1,500 pounds will be the week of March 18th. Trout season will run through the end of April. Follow our Instagram feed for the most updated info regarding trout stocking.

What’s the Catch? With the stocking last week, lots of trout limits pulled especially by boat. Schools were congregating in the channels. To reach the primary channel without a boat, try fishing from the end of the t-dock. Reports were that Hookup Baits in silver/blue and gold/black varieties were reeling them in. Our rangers recommend using aniseed varieties of Powerbait in brown and gold/white as well. The bass bite continued last weekend. Shiners and plastics saw the most action. Look for the bass activity to continue as we move into spawning season and lake temps rise. No reports of catfish last weekend, but we expect that to change with Full Moon Fishing coming up on March 23rd!

Conditions: With the air temperatures warming up, so goes the water temperature. The surface is seeing temps around 62 degrees, whereas at the 50 foot depth water temps are hovering around 59 degrees. Could explain why the trout are a little deeper right now. With spring forward the sun is rising at 7:00 a.m. and setting at 6:55 p.m.
