Isabella lake increased this week to 45 percent of its capacity and the water temps are in the low 50’s. The Trout bite has been very good lately with quality fish to 4lbs reported. Our contacts reported scoring trout with Get Bent Baits, Hook Up Baits, spinners, and Garlic doused Pinched Crawlers. The DFWL have a scheduled trout stocking going in here next week which should add to the enormous number of trout being stocked for the derby. The crappie bite is starting to be more consistent. The best action has been in 15 to 20-feet of water and as the weather warms the water expect them to move shallower any day. Offshore structure is holding large schools and anglers have been fooling them with minijigs and live shiners. The bass bite has been slow and remain out in deeper water. The catfish bite has been steady with SSS Dip Bait, mackerel, and sardines. The Annual Isabella Lake Fishing Derby is going to be held during March 23-25, 2024.
