The access for the Little Truckee has been getting better daily. While there is still a bit of ice and rocks on the road, it is currently open to most vehicles with maybe the exception of a low clearance sedan. Most all-wheel drive vehicles with moderate clearance, such as a Subaru, can get through as of right now with no issues.

At 54 CFS, the good holding water for trout remains limited and the best fishing will be below the dam. There has been a pretty good mid-day baetis hatch. For those that have the right bugs; light tippet and a good presentation, there are some fish to be had. While we recommend waiting to try and get out here until the flows rise, the fishing is still pretty fair all things considered.

One thing that we ask all anglers to bear in mind is that the rainbows will soon be in full spawn. Please keep an eye out for redds and consider using tail outs to cross as opposed to the riffles. All of that said keep an eye on the flows, because when it comes up it will game on!
