Great Place to Escape the Heat

The ranch is a great place to get out of the heat from the valley, daily highs remain in the mid 80s with the evenings downright chilly, you'll need at least a jacket in the morning. Seriously. The Water Boatman bite is in full swing, and coupled with a Callibaetis spinner fall in the morning and the hatch later in the day, you could spend an entire day glued to one spot on the lakes. But how fun is that? You'll want to explore the creek with a brown Chubby Chernobyl to target the fish chowing on Golden Stones. Stripping Wooly Buggers in the lakes, or fishing a Balanced Leech in black or brown is deadly effective and will get you through the lulls. When the winds pick up in the afternoon fish the edges with a terrestrial, Hi-Viz Beetles and a dark Missing Link in #14 have been working well. Once the sun hits the horizon in the evening, try a mouse pattern and keep your nitro pills close. A great place to escape the heat, we have weekend openings this month.
