The Dragon fell to 61 percent of its storage capacity, and anglers reported good late summer fishing for spotted bass, catfish and white bass. Bass anglers threw topwater lures, underspins, and crankbaits in the cooler parts of the day, and as usual, finesse baits and weightless Senkos got it done mid-day. Drop shot, darter head grubs and spider jigs all took fish from 10 to 30 feet deep on a slower retrieve with green pumpkin, Ox Blood, and shad colors all working well. White bass anglers trolled spoons and small swimbaits for good results, and catfish ate dip bait, chicken liver, and garlic scented nightcrawlers. Crappie were reported by anglers using small live minnows over rocky structure.
