Water levels fluctuated last week with the lake sitting at 87 percent of capacity as of the time of reporting. Water temperatures were in the mid-seventies. Bass anglers had fun boating undersized large and smallmouth with poppers and walking baits until about 10 am. That bite came back in the afternoons. Drop shoot Senkos and small finesse baits produced well in shad, brown and green. Be prepared for a lot of small sized fish. Striped bass boils continued throughout the lake, but they disperse quickly. Some anglers have focused on the bass bite with their main motor and sonar turned off. When a striper boil happens within casting distance anglers had about 30 seconds to boat as many zebras as they could manage. Catfish were reported in the coves east of the marina. Whisker fish picked up dip baits and cut sardines.
