Isabella dropped slightly to 28 percent of capacity and the overall fishing has been solid. Earlier this week anglers reported bass in 5 to 25-feet of water. The reaction bite is going strong and multiple fish over 5 pounds were reported this week. Quality and numbers are coming on a variety of offerings. Crawfish imitation plastics Texas rigged, and jigs have been fooling good numbers of bass. Square-bill crankbaits, big worms, jigs, and spinnerbaits are all scoring fish. The catfish bite has been excellent in many areas around the lake. One local angler scored multiple quality Whiskerfish using cut mackerel. Catfish action has been strong around the Camp 9 and French Gulch with SSS Dip Bait, shrimp, and mackerel. The crappie action continues to be very good offshore. Our sources reported steady crappie fishing with small/medium live minnows and minijigs at Red’s Marina, Engineers, South Fork, and French Gulch. One local angler reported great action on fish to 2 pounds around structure in the South Fork area in 20 to 25-feet of water. No reports on trout.
