This goes back a bit—I had to dig up a photo since things have been slow and we haven’t been seeing many anglers coming in for this time of year. These fish are about the size of what’s currently being landed on Lake Mohave and along the Colorado River below Davis Dam.

I was fishing the river with a good friend, Dell Olden, on his boat when I landed these two stripers. I was throwing a Bomber Long A in a trout pattern.

Lake Mohave is producing a few stripers, but anglers are having to work a bit to find them. The area from the dam out to the power lines has been productive. Trolling has been working well using bucktail jigs or white-colored glide baits.

Below Davis Dam, trout patterns—and sometimes white—on glide baits or paddle tails have been doing well.

For you trout anglers, Community Park has just been stocked again. The area in and around the launch ramp is producing limits of five rainbow trout. Nightcrawlers and PowerBait are working well for bait anglers, and spinners along with various trout jigs have also been productive.
