Fishing conditions and Hatches: Excellent. The weeds in McGee are all but gone. Strip Perch imitations in the shallows with Intermediate or dry lines. Still an occasional Brown looking for fry. Midging has returned to technique of choice and there are some nice size fish being taken in about 12 ft of water. Sandy still producing a bunch of small guys mixed in with a monster or two daily. Stripping works best but indicator troops are catching fish as well. An excellent weed line probably 300 yards long wraps the point. Fish are from weedline out to 12 feet. The North End is algae free and the big fish have shown up big time. Strip or midge over east and west channels in 6 to 10 ft of water outside the quickly disappearing weed line. As weeds begin to deteriorate start stripping amongt the weeds for staging Browns.

Recommended Flies: Midging has been best with Red/Black or purple early and Gray/Black later. Beadheads still necesssary where there is still some algae. Nothing magic required for streamers. Perfection Perch, Punk Perch, Matukas and Hornbergs will all produce if you get them down to the bottom where the fish are and give them a "woundee" action.
