The Trout Fitter in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. (760) 924-3676): As of Sept. 21: Only artificial lures with single barbless hooks may be used, and a two fish limit 18 inches or bigger is in effect. Crowley has been fishing fair but the fish have been big if you do hook. McGee and Green Banks are fishing good along with North Landing and Six Bays. Fly and bubble rigs with Leech patterns can be top producers in the fall months. Rapala CD-3 in Gold or Perch, Cyclones in Gold or Perch, 3/16 Krocodile in Gold and Jake's Spin-A-Lure in Silver/red dots. Trout Trap in pearl or Grasshopper and Pumpkin Seed in 6-12 feet under a clear bobber and just barley twitch the bobber. Trollers should be fishing in 20-35 ft. of water off of Life Guard, Sandy or Alligator Point with Rapala CD-5 in Fire Tiger or Perch, Needlefish in silver or Frog , Tasmanian Devils in pink or orange and 1/4 oz, and Kastmasters in silver/red tape or gold.
