HMB ling bite on record pace

It is shaping up to be a record-breaking lingcod year. In just the last seven days alone 180 lingcod have been landed on the Queen of Hearts, and dozens more hitchhiking lingcod let go before they made it to the net. And now the big bomber brownies are biting, too, filling sacks like the good old days of rockfishing past. The swell has finally calmed down and has been holding steady at the 2 to 4 foot range, but the wind has still been on the unpredictable side at times and pops up with no rhyme or reason every once in a while. Without a doubt, though, we are in the prime of the season and hopefully it will stay this way through the rest of the summer. Half Moon Bay Sportfishing & Tackle (510) 581-2628
