Captain Jeff Brady checked in from the Sacramento River in Colusa, Ca. today. Capt. Brady says its still very early for good numbers of Striped bass in the Colusa area, but within three weeks. We will be chasing the big Striper schools down river after the salmon smolt are released from Coleman National Fish Hatchery at the end of March into early April. Find the baby salmon and you'll find thousands of Striped bass eating, and eating, and eating what they can grab before the baby salmon make it to the Dleta and move out into SF Bay with the tides. Water levels will also dictate where the Striped bass will be holding, but they tend to hold in the same stretches of the Sacramento River during low water years like this one we're seeing now. Captain Brady will be on the river daily so we'll always know where they are holding. April and May Striped bass fishing dates are still available for those of you who haven't found a guide to fish with yet. Captain Brady will be fishing a lot of our trips in Colusa, but Justin and I will be fishing down there as well to cover the trips we have booked already. Thanks!
