The Striper bite has its rewards with some of our larger fish cruising in. Our local anglers Tony Smith and Chris Duncan brought in a 17.74 pound striper at 36 and 3/8 inches. They were fishing from shore in the Community Park area using anchovies to land this trophy size line side. The Community Park shore line also is home to some great trout fishing.  This time of year the Willow Beach Hatchery bring us Rainbow Trout that are raised at the hatchery, but because of a biologists opinion that the trout might eat the larvae of the razor back sucker fish Rotary Park will not get any stocked trout until next October. So the hatchery is bringing us fish to Community Park and Davis Camp until March. We might be getting some more trout after the Willow Beach hatchery stops for the season but they will be on the smaller side as its to help with the caddis fly issue. In the mean time beside anchovies for the stripers your glide and swim baits can and do produce some nice size catches here along the shore line of the Colorado River below the Davis Dam. I am getting word our trout anglers are having some great success using spinners and night crawlers. The power bait in an orange or the green has produced a few limits also. One angler was telling me the blue fox in the gold worked really well for him.

I did hear that a few shad boil were spotted up on Lake Mohave near Telephone Cove on the Arizona side and near the dam. not much word from the Marsh as of yet as I suppose its just about to start up as the large mouth bass should be in pre spawn or close.
