Nacimiento Lake held at 14 percent of capacity, and fishing has been good. Bass anglers continued to boat fish using the same topwater and finesse bait pattern which has been working for most of the summer. Finesse anglers have been using drop shot, darter heads, and shaky heads to coax bites from spotted bass holding in 10 to 20 feet of water. A lot of anglers have been heading home before the day gets hot. White bass have been going for topwater, in-line spinners, and spoons on the troll or during the occasional boil. Catfish have been eating dip bait, mackerel, and chicken liver, and crappie anglers reported fair fishing using small live minnows and crappie jigs over submerged structure.
