Its been a slow summer on Shasta so far, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been good by many peoples standards.  I'm spoiled out on Shasta most summers and when I have to work for them it seems slow to me.  Today was refreshing and we caught 15 fish including saimon, trout, and bass before heading in.  The Kokanee were very impressive and taped at 18.5" and 19" long.  Big, thick Kokanee in perfect shape!  I tend to fish an all species spread and haven't run many days with just Kokanee gear.  That might be a good idea right about now I think.  All of todays salmon and trout were caught 50'-70' deep trolling spoons.  The salmon and trout fishing will continue to imporve as we inch closer and closer to August.  The surface temps this week were 75 degrees so the lake is behind schedule I think.  Next weeks triple digit temps will continue to keep the temps on the rise and the baby Shad will start schooling up very soon as well.  We have lots of trip availability this month into next so give Jaynie a call for more info and available dates at (530) 510-2925.  Thank you!
