Pyramid Lake remained near full pool, and fishing has been good. Large and smallmouth fell for poppers and walking baits when the lake opened. As the sun rose higher in the sky bass anglers went deeper in the water column for bites. Texas rigs, drop shot, and shaky heads all took fish in the 5-to-20-foot zone. Ox Blood, purple, and green pumpkin were good color choices. Striped bass have been boiling throughout the lake, and anglers can fool the line sides with white Flukes, jerkbaits, spoons, and topwater lures. Cut sardines took striped bass at the inlet and in the marina. Catfish fell for anchovies and chicken liver. A local angler reported catching good sized catfish while using chicken liver blood injected nightcrawlers.
