Pyramid Lake remained near 92 percent of its storage capacity, and bass anglers reported fair fishing. The lake has a decent algae bloom going and the weed beds are getting thicker. Crankbaits, Rattle Traps, and jerkbaits fished parallel to the weed beds fooled large and smallmouth. Texas rigged plastics tossed into the weed pockets also took bass. The topwater bite has been slow, but some blowups were reported early in the day. Striped bass took umbrella rigs trolled in 25 feet of water. Main lake points were the best place to locate striper schools. Be sure to keep an eye out for occasional striper boils. Topwater baits, small swimbaits, and weightless Flukes were good baits for fooling the feeding striper. Catfish ate cut mackerel and sardines in the marina.
