The lake remained near full pool, and water temperatures rose into the low 80s. Boil chasing remained the favored way to land striped bass last week. Three-pound zebras chased shad throughout the lake with mornings offering the most action. Anglers hooked up with a variety of topwater lures, Flukes, jerkbaits, and spoons. White and shad imitating patterns were the lure colors of choice for the boil anglers. Smallmouth took topwater walking baits and poppers in the mornings. Drop shot, Texas rigs, and Senkos fooled bass in 5 to 30 feet of water with baitfish and green pumpkin both working well. Catfishing has been good for shore anglers soaking cut sardines in the coves east of the marina. Bluegill ate redworms in the backs of coves near submerged brush.
