Isabella dropped to 47 percent of capacity and continues to release more water out. The Borel Fire has hampered access to the lake this week, but that hasn’t stopped anglers from getting in on the action. The Isabella Bass bite continues for another week. Bass have been chewing topwater during the early hours of the day. Lucky Craft Sammy’s and River2Sea Whopper Ploppers have been working very well. Bass are being found in 5 to 20-feet of water and coming on jigs, Berkley Power-Worms and Chigger Craws-Texas Rigged, and Shakey Head worms. Senkos and Drop Shot rigs have been consistently getting bites the last few weeks. Crappie are showing near Red’s Marina and the main Dam in 10 to 15-feet of water. Our contacts reported good numbers of Crappie coming on Get Bent Baits and live minnows fished 4-feet below a bobber on a slow retrieve. Trout fishing remains good here. The best action has been coming from boaters trolling down deep with Needlefish, Tasmanian Devils and Flicker Shad. Floating garlic scented baits have been producing by the Dam. We have received multiple reports of decent Catfishing this week with frozen shad, SSS Dip Bait, live minnows and nightcrawlers.
