The water level fell to 31 percent of Success Lake’s storage capacity, and fishing has been good. Largemouth were the best bet with plenty of one pound fish taking baits. Finesse baits were good for numbers, but jigs, creature baits, and big plastic worms fooled bigger bass in deeper water. The submerged trees kicked out quality bass for anglers throwing deep diving crankbaits. Catfish anglers used bait rigs with cut baits and fresh shrimp for good results, and crappie took small live minnows near the marina.
