Fishing has been good at Buena Vista Lakes with bass, crappie, and catfish taking baits. Largemouth anglers reported a decent reaction bait bite with shad imitation cranks, jerks, and spinnerbaits all taking fish. Senkos and drop shot in green pumpkin and Aaron’s Magic got it done near brushy cover. Crappie preferred small live minnows, but after firing up a school anglers reported sticking them on minijigs and small swimbaits as well. Catfish were reliable, as always, on Carolina rigged SSS dip bait and chicken liver. This year’s Trout Derby is scheduled for November 16th. Entry forms are available at Cope’s.
