The lake dropped to 73 percent of the It’s storage capacity, and water temperatures fell into the upper fifties. Bass anglers reported winter fishing conditions with finesse baits and spooning techniques as the best bets. Carolina rigs, drop shot, and shaky heads took small and largemouth in the 15 to 30 foot zone. Rocky points and bluff walls seemed to hold the most biting fish. Striped bass remained elusive, but anglers can connect while trolling umbrella rigs in deeper water. Bait anglers reported smaller line sides taking cut sardines along the dam. Trout anglers reported catching big fish with dough baits and minijigs near the West Ramp. Catfish picked up cut baits intended for striped bass.
