Kirk Portocarrero of Outdoor Adventures Sport Fishing, Redding, Calif. (800-670-4448):

Salmon: Has been slower than expected this year, but the Kings are BIG. Catching 1-4 salmon per day. All salmon being caught are 30 lbs., plus many over 40 pounds. Looks like we are expecting a late run again this year. A good rain or two will bring more salmon upriver for November.

Rainbow: Fly fishing is fair to good. Drifting from Redding to Anderson, late afternoons, evenings best bet. Nice size trout, average day's catch 8-18 trout. Flies that are working well Fox's Poopahs, Prince Nymphs and Pheasant Tails.?Į
