Chums are beginning to trickle in. Places to scout out in the Washington Gazetteer are Chico, Johns and Kennedy Creek. Flies: chartreuse shrimp patterns (chum candies, turds, charlies, small clousers). Lines: floater or intermediate. Look for these late-fall salmon to build in numbers over the next couple weeks, by which time we should start seeing a few 8-weights come back for repair ??? a sure sign Chum season in under way! Be sure also to stretch the arms and shoulders out before hand?Ķ talk about going to battle. Most sea-run cutts and Coho are in the rivers by now, though a few late stragglers might still be encountered along the way.
