Kaweah Lake remained at 14 percent of capacity, and the spotted bass bite was solid last week. Most of the action has been in deeper water for anglers using drop shot, jigs, and spoons. One local angler explained that he has been using his electronics to locate schools of bass. After that he used spot lock to keep the boat right over the school. Ice jigs and vertical spoons were his lures of choice. Other anglers reported using finesse techniques and jigs near rocky structure to get bite. Trout anglers reported decent fishing using dough baits, Mousetails, and various trout lures to hook up, and catfish anglers used cut anchovies, mackerel, and dip bait to fool some whisker fish.
