Kaweah Lake dropped by 15% to 37% of its storage capacity in just one week. Rapidly fluctuating water levels pulled many bass off their usual holding spots. Anglers adjusted by fishing slow sink baits for suspended bass. Senkos, weightless flukes and jerkbaits took bass along ledges and bluff walls. Drop shot and other finesse baits also fooled fish near rocky structure on main lake points. Crappie anglers targeted submerged structure spots with small swimbaits and live minnows for decent results. Catfish picked up cut sardines, dip bait, and chicken liver.
