The water level dropped to 37 percent of the lake’s storage capacity, and anglers reported very good fishing. Largemouth went after poppers and walking baits right up on shore in the mornings and at night. Spinnerbaits and chatter baits worked early in the day as well. Finesse baits took bass out deeper with drop shot, shaky heads, and hula grubs producing plenty of 1-to-2-pound fish. Crappie held over submerged structure, and they fell for small swimbaits and live minnows. Catfish anglers fished after dark with good results using dip baits and chicken liver.
