The DFWL stocked 400 pounds of trout at Riverwalk on Wednesday. The trout bite turned on shortly there after and fishing has been excellent, with anglers scoring limits. Trout have been going for a multitude of minijigs, garlic scented Power Bait, garlic scented pinched-crawlers, and spinners. Surface flies have been scoring fish in the early morning and late afternoon. Most anglers here have been targeting trout, but the bass fishing remains fair. Your best bet are soft plastics on the drop-shot or Carolina rig. Amphitheatre Lake continues to turn out the majority of the bass being caught. The Annual Bakersfield Firefighters Fishing Derby & Pancake Breakfast will be held February 5, 2022. Both lakes will be stocked with tagged trophy trout worth up to $1000.
